We are a community from many parts of the world united in our faith in Jesus Christ and grounded in the traditions of the Catholic Church, within the Diocese of Nottingham. We embrace the continuation of Christ’s mission on earth by proclaiming the Gospel and celebrating the sacraments. We are therefore, One Family in Christ.

Welcome to our new home on the world wide web and to our new website! You are visiting us at a very important and special time – we are preparing for our Parish Mission, led by the Sion Catholic Community for Evangelism based in Brentwood, Essex. Our Mission begins in our parish school, Saint Norbert’s Catholic Primary School, here in Spalding, South Lincolnshire, on Monday, 11th June.

From the 16th June, the Mission moves from the school focus into the wider parish and we welcome the Visiting Team – who will undertake to visit the homes of our parishioners. If you would like to receive a visit from a member of the Visiting Team, call the Parish Office now on 01775 722056 (option ‘one’) or email us on admin@stnorberts.org.uk .

We begin our ‘Celebration Week’ from the 23rd June, and we welcome another team, ‘The Celebration Team’ among us. The Celebration Team will be leading us in many different experiences and expressions of prayer. It is twenty-one years since this parish last hosted a parish mission, and how this parish has changed! We believe that change is a good thing! We welcome people from all parts of the world, from all walks of life, people of other faiths and none, who just find a little respite from within the walls of our church and experience the fullness of God’s love, even for just a minute or two in their busy lives.

It is our hope that on Sunday, 1st July, our parish will unite for the closing Mission Mass at 11.00am. We are delighted that our bishop, Bishop Patrick McKinney, has accepted the invitation to be the principal celebrant at this celebration. This is the perfect culmination of all our celebrations – gathered around the Table of the Lord with our chief pastor, our priests and deacons; our parish and school communities – ‘One Family in Christ’

So, we invite you to join us – if you live nearby, please accept my personal invitation to come along to any of our services and celebrations. If you are unable to join us in person, you will be able to join us by our live stream – you will discover the full schedule of live streams on this website.

Assuring you of our prayers.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Jim Burke
Parish Priest
